Feel Yourself Russian ... in St. Petersburg - Part 3

REMARKABLE SEVEN DAYS IN THE NORTHERN CAPITAL (continued, part 3) In the metro, we noticed that the majority of Russian men clean-shaven, as well as stand out from the crowd, we do not really like ( say, a corrupt police in Russia do not hesitate to solicit bribes from tourists), so I began to shave regularly (Beee! difficult time. Same as me - a trip!) statue in the Hermitage Back in our apartment, we ate cherries and included a fan that he is a little We cooled. We also would not hurt to get fumigator, which is inserted into the socket to keep mosquito populations under control and sleep without being attacked small blood-suckers. Thank God, these fumigators good job with their work. I'm here still decided to look into the local beer, its great selection here. «Cmapblu Menbhuk» - a perfectly good light beer, it pleased me most. I have no idea how to pronounce his name! "In the morning, before heading into town, we were having breakfast at home dry breakfast cereals. Somehow we even managed to eat "breakfast is the worst in our lifetime" - a combination of skim milk and "Harmony", similar to the cardboard cereal box on which was written "dry breakfast with high protein content." This breakfast ruined my mood at all morning, and I demanded as compensation to buy a hot dog at the earliest opportunity. Fortunately, my first Russian hot dog was pretty tasty. At a sausage even put pieces of pickles. Inside the Hermitage We also noticed that gasoline in Russia is very cheap. We bought water at a gas station and saw that the petrol costs 25.3 rubles. This is about 53 pence or 93 Australian cents! Later, the driver who drove us to the airport, said to us when we asked him about the price of gasoline: Yes, in Russia a lot of oil! "palace halls in the Zoological Museum was very hot and thirsty. We are literally forced myself to move through the halls. As in other such museums of natural history, there were a large number of stuffed animals and birds (interestingly, who are all doing and where you can order a scarecrow, I think that many museums lack the services of "making stuffed animals"). We saw owls, bears and many more interesting things. We remember the narwhal. It's a whale with a long horn, just like a unicorn. The main exhibit of the museum is a stuffed mammoth, which once upon a time fell into a peat bog. Incredibly a stuffed animal that became extinct 40,000 years ago! Hermitage refreshed at a local fast food restaurant - where we ate a very tasty baked potato, which we recommend our acquaintances have visited St. Petersburg, drank a fair amount of water and ate ice cream - we went to the next attraction. Museum of Political History of Russia is also quite interesting. It was especially fascinating to see the office from which Lenin and his associates ran the revolution of 1917. There was table where Lenin worked, and a small balcony from which the revolutionary leaders sometimes speeches. This room has great historical significance. In the museum we saw a remarkable propaganda posters. Our guide told us that one of them once were seen on throughout the country. It shows a stern-looking woman, who was holding the call to join the army. Poster "The Motherland Calls" became the first poster that was hanging on throughout the Soviet Union after the German invasion in 1941 year. Another one poster shows a girl who is holding a photograph of a soldier. The headline reads: "My daddy the hero. He fights to protect our country ... and you?" (Actually, the poster reads: "My daddy the hero!" And you? ", n. . ed.) Towards the end we caught a funny poster with vodka, painted on one side of the poster, has been crossed, but on the other side of the book is drawn. Apparently, the thought was: "It is better to read, and do not drink." The museum is very much different information is presented in English. Even the emphasis on the fact that Stalin was a monster (this is if you were not aware). An excellent museum, we all really enjoyed it. The next morning we went to the Hermitage, viewing the exposition of the main art gallery St. PETERSBURG, we decided to dedicate a whole day. We stood in line 50 minutes just to get inside. Before us was a very funny-looking young man. "His hair was removed in a ponytail, and the clothes were in style 80-ies century. In Russia, sometimes you can see people who dress well. One day we even saw a man in sneakers, Air Jordan "model 80's!" The Hermitage, my passion for sculpture has been granted in the first hour. Still there were a lot of pictures. We no longer just like the palace and its decoration. Most of the rooms simply dazzle with their beauty. "Feel Yourself Russian!" altarpieces were lavishly decorated with gold gilding and subtle patterns. Terrific! The Hermitage also has several rooms that are the most ornate rooms of the palace. They are very beautiful. Some of the best palace halls, where we have ever seen. We were able to see many paintings by eminent artists, including our favorite Rubens (here we saw not his best work), Picasso, Gauguin, Rodin, Degas, Cezanne , Van Gogh, Renoir and Monet. Some of the pictures we liked very much. After a day spent at the Hermitage, we went to see the folk show, which was called "Feel Yourself Russian!". During the show, we drank champagne and took a seat in the back row to be able to stand up and take pictures when we want. Submission of us liked it, and we did a lot of good photos. The show was attended by good singers and dancers who were doing interesting things, for example, danced all sorts of Cossack dancing. At half-time we tried caviar that the taste was salty and the fish taste! show for tourists representation, of course, was organized for tourists, but it was all very well, and there was no such feeling that everything was done for the "foreign boobies." It seems to me that even the residents of Russia, this show should be quite to your taste. On the last day Alicia tasted Russian tea (without milk), which she liked, and then we made one serious mistake - we went to Moscow, but more on that another time. So , St. Petersburg liked both of us. We were well into our small apartment, and only mistake, perhaps, was that we ate in the main house and tried Russian cuisine quite rare. We would have liked to have had more time, to discover all the attractions of this wonderful city. We would be happy if I can come back here! Start material:
