THREE DAYS IN LATVIA Ike, USA About a month ago we went to Latvia. Somehow his hands did not reach to share experiences on this trip. In the end, we decided that no matter how much time has passed since the trip, and now want to tell you about Riga. In Riga, we spent three days enjoying the good weather, views of old town and various attractions. Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and major tourist attraction in Riga. Many tourists who come to Riga and almost never leave the center, why not see many other beautiful cities. Our trip to Riga was very brief, and we were not able to resist the charm of historic downtown, where we spent most of the time. But other places, we also managed to visit and we hope we can interest you. Powder Gate on the day of our visit to Riga, we walked through the old town. This is a good place to walk, so it's no surprise that the center of town so fond of tourists. On that day we saw many churches, wander around the narrow paved streets, drank coffee at various cafes, admiring the old buildings and, in general, leisurely enjoying life. After lunch, we left the old city and went to the market, which is located behind the Riga Railway Station. There we came quite late, part of the market was already closed. But we still managed to walk through the rows and buy some vegetables and fruits to cook their own dinner. Swedish gate near the market is one of our favorite buildings in Riga - the building of the Latvian Academy of Sciences. This majestic building built in the style as it is sometimes called, "Stalinist architecture". We like these buildings, and we have repeatedly encountered something similar in Moscow and Warsaw. And now in our "collection" horrible and the building of the Latvian Academy of Sciences. The building of the Academy of Sciences on the second day in Latvia, we decided to leave Riga for several hours. We went to Jurmala, a sea resort town not far from Riga. Our trip to Latvia took place at the beginning of May, so that sea bathing was not in our plans, although on the beach we saw a few people who dared to swim, so, apparently, to plunge into the sea have made sense. But since we do not polar bears and walruses are not, it was decided to stay on shore. First we went to what might be called "health park". Probably, this park is part of a clinic or hospital, but besides the park, we saw nothing more. The reason why we call it a "health park" is set in a park horizontal bars, where people make all sorts of exercises to stay fit. There is also a large playground with roundabouts, which also turned out to be horizontal bar. To Carousel whirled, we must push it from different angles, straining at the same time different groups of muscles. One of them is spinning, if for her to go. Interesting it is not difficult, but you need to know when to stop. It was a good workout for the coordination of movements. Park Health On the next roundabout had to change the center of gravity. This carousel is actually more like a cross between a carousel and swings. On this merry-go we felt like at the gym. Interesting machine in another part of the park is the largest "rukohod, which we have ever seen. Great exercise - climb to the top. The park also has a track for inline skating. On the path drawn by the image of skates, so wrong in its purpose was simply impossible. Track Roller skate Incidentally, the quality of athletic fields and tracks for roller skates, and prompted us to think that this park belongs to a clinic, rather than just another city park. Covering a track was made so that once it became clear that it is made specifically for training. All equipment playgrounds have been of the highest quality, so that was visible to the naked eye, that someone put into it a lot of money. It is also clear that the entire area is made not just for games and sports. Yet it seemed to us that this was all done for adults, not children. We go in at different horizontal bars, and we enjoyed it very much. Adults can have a great time in this park, but still a workout. Deadline for material:
