If you are in Bangkok - and enjoy life ... do not forget to bargain!

INCREDIBLE BANGKOK Vicki Sheppard'll be honest, I felt no special desire to visit Bangkok, when planning their trip to Thailand. I was told that there is dirty and shabby, and I thought that would go there except that older men who want to spend a couple of days with a young taiko. I only met the night there, and then go further into their journey to the islands. But soon I realized that you can not always build their opinions based on hearsay and prejudice. One planned overnight stay in reality turned into a three-day excursions, shopping, and hardcore partying, and one more night to be held in Bangkok on the way back, so everything can be repeated again! Of course there are "miserable" side of town, but I feel more secure walking to bars and strip clubs in Pat Pong (nightlife district in Bangkok, visited mostly by foreign tourists) than in the nighttime streets of his native city in the UK. Boat on the Chao Phraya River The very first habit, which I got rid of immediately upon arrival at the Bangkok airport, it was my typically British habit of paying as much as said. Do not be afraid to haggle - the seller from you, in fact, waiting. You'll quickly get used to the sight calculator that you poked in the face, calling the price, so do not hesitate to try! In most cases you will see that the seller takes off from 20% to 40% of the initial price. I went into the taste, and even called simply ridiculous price just to start bidding! His first experience I gained while trying to find a taxi to his group of four people to get to downtown Bangkok. The trip takes about an hour, if we go down the road Sukhumvit is the main routes through the city and ending at the coast, in the city of Pattaya. At first we were offered a price of 900 baht (about $ 20). This price is quite acceptable for a man ready to pay $ 7 to just pass a few hundred meters along a straight street. I would have happily paid the amount named, and yet would still be happy with a bargain, if I was not warned that it costs no more than 500 baht. So we went to the airport taxi lot, and it turned out that the same trip cost us only 400 baht - as the Thais say, "cheap, cheap!" "Chinatown in the capital of Thailand, you can use different modes of transport: taxis, tuk- tuk (three-wheeled mototaksi) and incredibly convenient overhead subway. The choice depends on your courage, and the amount of alcohol consumed before the trip Thai whiskey! I noted that because of the huge number of cars on the road, taxi rides to four times slower than the subway, so that the latter has become my favorite mode of transportation. In Bangkok, the three underground lines, they begin from the Central Pier, where you can sit on the boat and swim to the Hotel Grand Palace. At the same boat you can get to Khao San road and Chinatown, passing the Hotel Sala Deng ", which I advise to look for those who want to see the famous ping-pong show Pat Pong. Hotel Grand Palace Bangkok by night - it is something that it is impossible to forget. We made a mistake on our first night, passing by the present Thai bars in search of pubs in the British style (during the trip from Europe we have seen a lot of relevant ads in the booklet which carries the flight attendants). Yeah, this is another typical feature of the British, not to pay attention to what part of the world they currently are. I strongly advise everyone not to make the same mistake. End so that you will pay tangible the bag for a half-liter of beer "Strongbow" and Yorkshire pudding, instead try an incredible Thai food and cold beer "Sing", which is several times cheaper. Statue at the hotel "Grand Palace" If you have little time to stroll through the center, do not waste a single second. Visit the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaev (Emerald Buddha), to satisfy their cultural needs, but do not forget about other, less popular tourist attractions. I highly recommend you take a walk in Chinatown and visit the Sunday market Chatuchak. You will receive an unforgettable experience. Here you can chat with local and experience the incredible mix of scenery and smells that can only exist in Bangkok. This place does not seem to any other in the world, and a visit here is never enough!
