Do not visit the opera in the Bulgarian capital, better stadium - part 1

SOFIA: FOOTBALL AND HAZARDOUS SIDEWALK John and Miranda, England Our arrival in the new luxury "Terminal 2 of Sofia Airport which is located in the eastern suburbs of the city, went smoothly and without disruption. Apparently, the terminal was built with the money of the European Union, which seeks to distribute wealth among all its citizens and create the first good impression about Bulgaria. In the ATM, which was located in the arrivals hall, we got a little leva and tried to rid yourself of pesky harassment of local taxi drivers who were ready to tear from us as much as possible. If you do not like the 84 bus route, in the Sofia airport is best to go directly to one of two windows of a taxi service that are in the arrivals hall to the right of car rental agencies. I do not remember the name of one of the taxi services, and another - "OK Supertrans" or something similar. "Something similar is of great importance in the world Sofia taxi. A huge number of companies try to imitate the logo "OK Supertrans" to take with a client inflated taxi fares in the city, which is higher than the normal 10 times. The visit to the window taxi service will solve this problem, and taxi fares to most of the central areas will not exceed 15 leva. So you know now (December 2009) per kilometer in Sofia takes 0.59 leva, and no product of this figure at 3 or 10. The car taxi service "OK Supertrans" in the logo after each of the letters "O" and "K" are red dots. Quite possibly, at the back door of the car will be advertising the First Bank of Bulgaria ... Be careful! National Theater Ivan Vazov We arrived in the city center at about 3 pm. By registering at the hotel, we went into town to buy tickets for cultural events that we planned to visit, namely, the performance of the Sofia Symphony Orchestra in Sofia Philharmonic and the opera "Prince Igor" by Borodin at the National Opera and Ballet. We usually do not go to such concerts at home, although we have several times watched the ballet during our trips to Eastern Europe, so we had a great opportunity to try something new. The cheapest tickets at the box office sold for 10 leva at both concerts, so we decided that this will be enough to arrange this little experiment. Fortunately, there was no sell-out, and always had the opportunity to change seats at other places. By the time it was already dark, so that the attractions look no special features. We have succeeded in passing glance, looks like the National Theater Ivan Vazov, and then we remembered the command "Levski". Match between Levski Sofia - Villarreal football part of our journey started at the stadium named after George Aspararuhova, home stadium of FC Levski during the match against the Spanish Villarreal in the European League. "Levski" does not show up to this match, so the interest of local fans to the game cooled down, and a great buzz around the ticket office, located in the southern part of the stadium, were not observed. Continuous rain, which began in the late afternoon, apparently also did not help ticket sales. When our plane was spread over the city to make a landing, we noticed that the stadium, which seemed a large open bowl with a roof over the main grandstand. From the National Theatre, we boarded a tram route 22, and the left side of the course were clearly visible mast lighting. We passed a major intersection near the east station, the building was left of us. The stadium is located approximately three minutes' walk north of the tram tracks - just have to go through a high-rise buildings, and ticket offices will be on the right hand and right before you will tribune fan club Levski Ultra. Rain has simplified our selection of tickets - for 20 leva we bought the best seats in the stadium under the roof of the main platform, which is located on the left when facing the ticket office. In the immediate vicinity of the stadium did not sell alcohol, although we still could not figure out whether this was the decision by UEFA, or the Bulgarian authorities have decided to stop his tricks. We wanted to get into any decent cafe near the stadium, but eventually we found only a fast food restaurant, pizza take-out and some semblance of a dining room where meals were served cuisine. Any and all alcoholic beverages, of course. Such a number of police officers, all with shields and helmets, it seemed manifestly unnecessary, especially since before the match was still an hour. And certainly too many police were at the stadium, where 18 ministers of the rule of law protected forum for guests, which was not a single fan, "Villarreal". In total there were 10, they were in a corner of the main grandstand. Fans enthusiastically welcomed by both the ball into the goal "Levski" and waving the Spanish flag in the complete indifference of local football fans. Another 50 people "hiding" in the VIP area. They must come together with the team. Footballers' Levski tried, puffed, but nothing at the gate to create a rival to them and failed. Forwards Spanish club did what they wanted, and got a couple of opportunities, did not they throw. "Yellow Submarine" (the so-called European football club Villarreal, prim.perev.) Took another step to victory! On the way back to the city tram number 22 passengers were behaving quite noisy. 15-year representatives of the fan club "Levski Ultra showed their bravado, standing on the tramways, smoking in the cabin and singing songs.
