LAZY HOLIDAYS IN JAMAICA Stewart and Rachel Kane, Britain's hard to believe but we are in Jamaica for over a week. One sunny day gives way to another, and we lazily pochityvaem book either reluctantly swim in the pool on an inflatable mattress. Every day, pouring heavy rain and thunder roars. Curious lizard last weekend in Jamaica was a great feast, and all staff (excluding directors) went home to spend a few days with his family, but this time we had to take care of themselves ... sort of! August 1 Jamaica celebrates the emancipation, and so on Monday as a day off. The holiday is celebrated in honor of the event in 1833 when the Act was adopted to prohibit slavery, which ended the slave system in the British Empire. The first week of August informally called the week of Jamaica, because 6 of notes is also Independence Day in Jamaica. Thus, my wife and Reich during the last two months were able to visit two countries that gained independence from Britain. It is hard to imagine that once our country has had power over such a large part of the globe. So, soon there will be another holiday, and a three-day working week, for sure, will have the locals to their liking. View from the balcony on Friday for the start we decided to do cooking, cook us curry with peas, meat goat and rice, and then all went to enjoy their long weekend. The dish we liked. Meat goats was much more tender than I thought, and very tasty. It was like a lamb and go perfectly with a delicate flavor curries. The dish is definitely unusual, I try to cook it when I get home, that's just I'm not sure that in our supermarkets sell meat goats. On Saturday night I had to demonstrate their culinary skills when I'm in the absence of hotel staff volunteered to cook a small barbecue. Home cooked sauce, using different Caribbean ingredients, including chilli, cumin, shallots and pickled salmon, and chicken meat before, as previously put it in the oven for 45 minutes. Everything went according to plan, I became too confident. As a result, meal of the day began badly scorched salmon and chicken with mango sauce that is cooked Rachel. I explained his failure to the fact that I'm not used to cook on a gas stove, so the fire burned all the meat and fish. Usually I cook a delicious barbecue embers! The main event on Saturday, with the exception of the bright sun and comprehensive peace in the hotel, has become an exciting party in the "trivialization Pursuit" (a popular desktop shadberry quiz approx. Perevi.) Between me and Rachel. In addition to a full hour of fun and laughter, we found out that I am an interior receptacle of useless questions and answers, and Rachel - no! But despite this and the fact that Rachel is now quite angry at me, that she is able to apply knowledge gained in practice, but it is more important in life than winning the table quiz! However, she can not understand why I do not appreciate common sense and useless general knowledge that can help you win the contest in a pub around the corner and get a few extra pounds in the game "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire." We made new friends. For example, Chardonnay, director of the hotel dog. This is a brown poodle, her three-year, and she's very funny. She does not like the snobby British poodles. She reminded us of our dog Dizzy fact that she likes when she tickled the abdomen, and the fact that she is always very happy guests! Poodle named Chardonnay Sunday Rachel has decided not to swim in the pool and went on the Caribbean coast. Then she said she wanted to swim away from shore, but she was scared and she had to go back. Most likely, it frightened the ramps. Stingrays there actually was not, but Reich is a very rich imagination. Better safe than sorry, I think so! On the streets of the town Ocho Rios on Sunday held its fourth annual Seafood Festival in the town of Ocho Rios. After sunset, we decided to go into town and see what happens there. The city was overcrowded! All parking lots were jammed. We knew almost nothing about the local police and the city, so we decided not to leave the car my father-in anywhere. And then write out a fine or even something worse. We rode through the city, so get an idea of ??the nightlife of Jamaica. Difficult to describe the types, colors, sounds and smells of Ocho Rios, who met us as we circled the city searching for parking spaces. But I still try in a few words to explain what is happening there. Along with those who walked on foot to the festival and from there back, it was pretty much idle wobbly people. After sunset is not so hot, Jamaican take to the streets and interact. Thus, a surprisingly cheerful atmosphere in which there is nothing dangerous, as it may seem at first glance. People cook the bacon and chicken straight from the road on portable braziers. In the air enticing aromas, breathing that is constantly hungry, regardless of when the last time you eat. It should be added loud sounds of dancehall and reggae music (popular music styles in Jamaica, ca. Perevi.), Which comes from the parked and moving slowly along the streets in cars. With this music you can feel that the cultural mix that makes Jamaica so unique place. On the way back we stopped at the gas station clock, which decided to buy something for dinner. As a result, our choice was to canned beans and sausages, which went perfectly with freshly baked bread. I decided to experiment and bought a jar of acute baked beans. Deadline for material:
