LAZY LIFE FLOWERS AND BEAUTIFUL TAIWAN (continued, part 2) I think most children in the camp was forced to go to their parents. It seemed that almost none of them liked to spend time in nature, and many of them English was generally not needed. Needless to say that they did not like my lessons as I would have tried to make them brighter and more interesting. The first day we talked about the animate and inanimate objects. Then we just wandered hither and thither, and children should find as many inanimate objects. Near many trees and plants were signs with English names, and I thought it would be fun if we look for the right name. We even fed the goats. After 10 minutes, students who spoke in English, began to complain: "Mrs. Teacher, I'm hot!", "Mrs. Teacher, I'm tired!", "Can we go back?" I felt that I come up with interesting lesson plans. Once we went to the observation deck, where in front of us opened a wonderful view of the ocean. We talked about fish and other creatures that live in water. Another time we went to the pond where the ducks lived. There we talked about the ducks, feed them and played "Ugly Duckling" (children's game in which one who is called an ugly duckling, must catch up with leading, approx. Perevi.). Children seemed more interesting to sit in a room with air conditioning, you go out and do all that I invented for them. By the end of the week I decided not to show students the nature. But then followed by new complaint: "Mrs teacher, I have a sore butt! I too am sitting in one place. " Needless to say that it was a never-ending week. Taiwanese giant dragonfly Time dragged on even more painful because I had nowhere to apply themselves during the breaks between classes and after dinner. I had a break from 12:00 to 14:00. I walked a couple of times, but, in truth, this is not the best time of day for a walk or some other physical activity, especially in mid-August. Usually I come back soaked with sweat, and just thinking about a cool shower. Due to the fact that I have not had a moped, or any another means of transportation, I was tied to the farm. Another problem - there is almost no one to talk. In the dining room, I usually sat in silence, because everything they say in Chinese. I felt like the class of Charlie Brown (the hero of popular comics, approx. Perevi.), Where all students are talking, as their teacher: "Wow-wa-wa-y." Most of the time I had no idea what's going on. Taiwanese counselors say something to children, and I had to ask one of the best students, they just said. Well, with regard to punctuality - so here I am seriously annoyed delay children to the top class. I've always been ready in time to begin a lesson, but all the kids for some reason thought that they have in stock is still about 30 minutes. Make glutinous rice Monday evening they were all playing in the game. Then I realized that all these games in China, and that someone had me explain the rules. In general, I decided to dedicate the evening reading and watching television programs. The next evening we went to look for fireflies. I thought that we will go to the meadow where we will flit around the flickering lights. But perhaps the time was not a season ... We saw the strength of two fireflies in the evening. It was boring. I saw a bunch of ants dragging somewhere a dead grasshopper. Fu-uu! Flashlight desires Wednesday night we had a barbecue, to which I was to come. We fried some tofu (curd prepared from milk and soy beans, approx. Ed.), Mushrooms and peppers, which turned out to be quite tasty. On Thursday morning we had to go to the observation deck to meet a dawn. I went downstairs about four in the morning, and (as a surprise!) Camp residents did not seem to 4:30. Then, instead of walking, we got into the minibus which took us to another observation deck, much worse than ours. At that moment I decided that we should not wait any longer anything supernatural. It is surprising, but it worked. Dawn was awesome! It was a bit strange to realize that I watched as the sun rises over the ocean Tihiv, because in the States, it sits in this ocean! Then I realized that I'm on the other end of the world. I began to imagine how the sun at the same time, sits down in California, and for a moment felt like a mouse Feyvel from the cartoon, and was almost singing his song. (Mouse - the hero of the animated series "American Legends Feyvela", from a screenplay he and his family emigrated to the U.S. from Russia. Note. Perevi.) That evening we cooked glutinous rice, which is considered a national Taiwanese dessert (tszuntszy, filling of sticky rice, wrapped in reed, bamboo or palm leaves, approx. ed.). It is made in a large wooden mortar. There he was mauled more like a log, with the pestle. After the rice was sticky, add sweet spices. On Friday night we did the traditional Chinese red lanterns and wrote to them his wishes. Then we lit them and left. It is believed that if you follow this ritual, a desire written in the lantern, fly away to heaven, where people read them gods. I liked them to do, besides, they looked very nice. Although I could not drive away the thought that is not very good in terms of ecology. This was the last night in the camp. On Saturday morning we went to the Museum of Culture, where I have tried several traditional snacks, such as for example, tomatoes in syrup. Around noon, it's time to return. From the camp bus went through Taipei to Kaohsiung. Once again I decided to save and drove home in this free bus. Several times to stay on the road, the bus finally drove me home. The trip took me good eight hours. Overall, I enjoyed it, and I was glad that I could see another part of Taiwan. I certainly want to make another trip to Ilan, before I leave home. Only next time I'm going to rest and not work. Start material:
