TRAVEL TO MYANMAR Anna, and Florus, Finland - Germany After a week spent on the beach Thai island of Koh Chang, we returned to Bangkok, there to board a plane to the city of Yangon, the former capital of Myanmar, it is the same in the past, Burma. The political situation in Burma is stable from the moment in 1962 to power the country came to the military regime. The population in this period mercilessly exploited, and anti-government protests ruthlessly suppressed. Streets of Yangon Travel Myanmar, but public discussion of these issues have not yet been completed. If someone from the opponents will be arrested, he will spend the rest of his days in prison. In Burma, no ATMs, and we had to carry cash dollars of different denominations and exchange them on the black market. Internet access is also limited. Many of the western sites, including the major social networks, and even travel blogs are blocked. Although usually easy to circumvent this restriction owners of local internet cafe, simply by changing the proxy settings. Power outages happen every day, but usually once included back-up generators. We decided as little as possible to support local government: spending money in private shops, cafes, hotels, and do not use telephone services. Trains and planes, we also did not use because they are partly owned by the government. Many provinces of the country are closed to tourists. Sometimes, to get to any part of the country, you must obtain a special permit, and can get there by air. For these reasons, we could not get into exotic areas. All this probably sounds complicated and scary, but I can assure you that Burma - one of the safest countries in which we have ever visited, and we believe that the people of Burma - one of the most friendly nations throughout the South East Asia. Patient Yangon in Yangon We were greeted employees of the hotel "Mazerlend Inn, and we do not have to fuss and expensive to catch a taxi to the city. After registration and breakfast at the hotel, which was included in the price, we went walking on the bustling streets of downtown. While walking through the city, Anna, my girlfriend started to feel bad and we decided to go back to the hotel and relax. The hotel it was getting worse. She had persistent vomiting and diarrhea. She could not eat or drink anything. Her stomach is not kept even a solution of dehydration, Coke, Sprite and plain biscuits. Thus, the use of antibiotics was not much. We decided to move to a room with air conditioning, and remained there until she felt better. At a time when Anna was bad, I did not do anything interesting. A couple of times I went into town to buy her everything necessary. One afternoon I went to watch a movie, "Avatar" in the cinema who worked on back-up generator. Four days later, we had to postpone his trip to the city of Bagan and book tickets on the bus at a later date. It took about 8 days before Anna felt able to continue the journey, but it took more time to ensure that it is fully recovered and was able to do something and started to eat whatever she wanted. The bus station in the Nyaung U Bagan in the village of Nyaung U, a suburb of Batanga, we arrived at 5 am and hired a cart to the nearest hotel, which decided to get some sleep before heading to the village and find a hotel better. The next morning we moved to a cheaper hotel, which also was a great location, and hired a cart on a day to ride around the neighborhood and look at the most interesting temples, located near Bagan, which, incidentally, a World Heritage Site UNESCO has not yet been entered. City Bagan is a huge space along the Irrawaddy. This area is literally littered with ruins of ancient temples. Some of the temples were built in 850 BC. Kind of amazing here, especially during sunset. On the second day we went to see the temples of Old Bagan, already on the bike. Day we finished, enjoying the sunset from the temple Buledi. It is surprising that there was unexpectedly large number of tourists vacationing on the tour. Later, it became clear that the meetings with them will be difficult to avoid, since we are on the main tourist route.
