Bogota can be proud: Not only the Host drug barons, but many good museums (the ending part 3) After dinner I went to several churches, but most of all I liked the church Iglesia de Santa Clara, which actually more like a museum. Its walls are hung with paintings, an altar made of gold, the ceiling is covered with golden flowers, and the walls on which paintings there, colorfully painted. Excellent! Church Iglesia de Santa Clara, I also liked Botero Museum and Arte Kolekson. In fact, it is a museum complex consisting of four different museums (which also includes a museum of Casa de Moneda and Arte del Banco da la Republica). And at first I was a little bit confused, not knowing what the museum's best to start. Fernando Botero - one of the most famous Colombian artist, he handed over all his works to the museum Botero. There are also works by Picasso, Chagall, Degas, Monet, Miro, Dali and Ernst. Museum Arte Kolekson has collection of paintings that included works by artists over the past several centuries until the 20 th century. In this museum I also saw two "edakii church stuff." It seems that this is the best description I can give. I do not know how they are properly called. They are large and very nicely decorated, made of gold inlaid with emeralds, diamonds, pearls, rubies, sapphires, topaz and amethyst. The museum Botero Wandering through the streets, I noticed a very strange feature - a huge number of police, military and private security. All of them are armed with big guns, some even two. And because of its proximity to the Presidential Palace and the building in Congress for more abut them officers of government protection, which protect the two buildings. Near the presidential palace, even forbidden to walk on the pavement, and every 20 meters there is a guard. And yet it was full dressed in civilian intelligence personnel. I do not know, there is always so, or is it because of the upcoming May 30 presidential elections. According to a recent poll, Antanas Mockus, is likely to become the new president. Previously, he was the mayor of Bogota, and now is Green Party. I wonder what the outcome of political intrigue. Miro, Picasso and some of the modern Austro What surprised me in Columbia, so this is how progressive the country. Of Columbia do not often hear in the news, but I read a lot about it, and although this country is certainly growing, here you can see many examples of far-sighted and constructive policy. One evidence of this - Sunday Sikloviya (Spanish: "bike lane", prim.perev.) In Bogota. On Sunday, about 120 km of roads in the city are closed to vehicular traffic, turning into a pedestrian zone. Very sorry that I will not be in Bogota on Sunday! Drive is terrible, even worse than in Buenos Aires. I'm sorry I will miss this holiday for all pedestrians and cyclists! However, I have a few more interesting days in Bogota. The adventure continues! Start material:
