My friend and I travel together ... on the green continent - part 2

IN SEARCH OF THE SUN THROUGH ALL AUSTRALIA (continued, p.2) The next day we spent on the road. We went by bus along the east coast, but it was only the first of many other long journeys, which we had to do. We arrived at the scene 12 hours later and immediately went to the hotel. The town of Airlie Beach is the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands. In general, the more and talk about it there is nothing - a long street with restaurants, bars, hotels, travel agencies and, of course, a marina. But we still liked the city! The next three days, we, along with 20 other tourists went on a yacht called the "Alexander Stewart". It was a luxurious yacht, and although initially we wanted to get on another boat, and our application messed up, everything was on the highest level! We had his own cabin, while on other ships we have always placed in a dormitory. Luxuriously! Airlie Beach Weather during our voyage changed very often. Often was rain, the wind was blowing, and very rarely we have been able to see the sun! Most flights to the islands has been canceled due to strong winds and an approaching cyclone, but we were lucky - our boat was the penultimate vessel that dared to leave the port. At least we went out to sea. The storm caught us just at the middle of the road. (Later we learned that the cyclone hit Airlie Beach and everything in town closed at this time). Most of all I liked to dive in the Bay of Blue Pearl. I've never seen anything like it. And on the beach, Whitehaven Beach, the sand was so white that they could clean their jewelry, and the result would have been much better than after brushing the jewelry shop in our home! We spent time on the boat, diving snorkeling and relaxing on the deck (when not rain!), And at night sat at the bar to enjoy a cocktail. And what could be better than waking up on the boat with the understanding that you are in one of the most beautiful places on earth! Whitsunday Islands After three days on the speedboat took us a while to get used to the fact that we are not swayed from side to side, and we can confidently stand on solid ground. We said goodbye to everyone and sat down on a regular 12-hour bus to the town of Harvey Bay, where we ordered a 3-day trip without a guide to Fraser Island! We stuck to a group of 9 other tourists, given a map, SUV and something which gear for camping, and then sent on to the road, which ran on the God-forsaken place. Thus here! The roads on the island - generally a separate issue. They are like no any other works of man that I have ever seen in my life. It's awful narrow dirt roads, across which lie now and then branches and whole trees. In addition, the beaches on the island are the main ways of communication! During these three days we saw three very beautiful lake, one of which is fairly well known. Lake McKenzie - just great, here you can even clean up the sand Jewelry. A little annoyed that we could not go to the north of the island, because next was a cyclone that could befall us at any time. But we have visited many other places that usually do not trip you done. I think we were lucky! The island is home to many dingoes, these are animals that look like dogs. Here they feed on carrion and hunt. If you provoke them, they can be very dangerous, and they are everywhere on the island. We are sorry about it, because before we left, it became known that more recently they attacked and the people! Evenings we spent on the beaches: put up tents, cooked, talked and tried not seen by a dingo ... This trip was particularly challenging for us, but from him we got an unforgettable experience!
