Random ADVENTURE IN THE CONGO and Meg James Butchart, USA We made our trip to Kenya, stopping at campgrounds, located in beautiful places. One of them is situated on the banks of the Nile at the point where it flows out of Lake Victoria. It was just an intermediate stop, and we expect to return, and how to enjoy the views on the way back to Nairobi. We waited for Uganda, and to get there, we decided to cross the Kenya. Fields on the slopes during the entire trip a magnificent landscape gave way to another. He started with a very dry plains, almost desert-like countryside of South Africa, through the turbulent river delta to the shores of lakes and coastal roads in East Africa. We moved further north, and the height increases when approaching the equator. Soon we were surrounded by a totally different landscape. This area was occupied mainly by agricultural land. Solid plantation of tea, coffee, sugar cane and bananas. It's a shame that with the green vegetation we were expecting rain and humidity, which, in turn, is very difficult conditions ahead. Children run after the car So, in Uganda, we stopped in a town called Kisoro, which we used as a base on the way to gorillas. The driver told us that seeing the gorillas in Uganda will be possible only if we obtain approval, but we can freely observe them in the Republic of Congo. Dissatisfied leader is not every day we have to go to such places, and we thought - why not? We attempted to cross the border into Congo on Saturday, but on the border we were told that nothing would come, as the president of Congo was on a visit to the border, checking the road, built by Chinese construction workers. Who was lying on my bed? All of us were a little disappointed that we could not meet with him, not to mention the gorillas, but we were assured that we can try to do it on Sunday. Well fingers crossed for good luck - Uganda, though a beautiful country, but nothing much happens here, not to mention our camp. Hold on tight! Just as I was typing this, came the wedding procession, that here is quite rare. Well, maybe Saturday night will not drag on indefinitely ... Our campsite in Kissoro was a favorite place for wedding processions, where they come for photo shoots. We are not one of those who hide from the cameras, and decided that this is a good idea - to make himself a few photos. We made some shots, after which they were invited to shoot one of the wedding family photos. We thought it very strange, considering what we were wearing, but the family insisted, and we have not given up. Now we have been and photos for the fireplace ledge, and a way to kill Saturday night in a very humid Ugandan town. Not having succeeded in crossing the border on Saturday (who knows, the president has the authority to close the border?), We got up early on Sunday morning to try to do it again. Finally, we were lucky, and after the inevitable wait at the border, they showed us to our car and we went into the mountains. Cuckoo! I see you! About an hour we drove past the tiny hamlet, a little rising higher into the mountains. It's unbelievable, but here are cultivated every available piece of land available to the locals. All work is doing is both manual and animals, without any equipment. This turns the countryside into a beautiful quilt fabric - the result of hard work and rapid vegetation growth. As soon as we moved to a dirt road with one lane, we were greeted by local children. They were desperately trying to catch up with the car and ran after her, it seemed no less than a mile. At the end of the journey, we disembarked and started walking, climbing to the mountain jungles through cultivated fields. We are fortunate that the weather was clear, and after an hour of lifting our guides told us that nearby is a group of gorillas. Every night, the male-leader sleeps on a new bed, which during the day to make it female group. And we were lucky enough to find already abandoned a huge bed. It was not long before we first looked at these extremely rare and truly spectacular animals. The family, which we tracked down, consisted of the leader, two females and two young gorillas. We were warned that we should be at least seven meters from the gorillas, but despite this, our guide was not so strict and allowed to come as close as possible. Young male first appeared unusually curious and playful young male two years old. Watching them play and to see how they try to interact with people immediately feel how their habits are similar to the behavior of young children. Absolutely fearless and just happy, because that play and show off, a young prankster decided to show us how smart he is able to climb the mountain. After the excitement in his address from Megan, he was emboldened enough to run up close and slapped her in the leg. Not once but twice, as only confirmed how calmly they feel, meeting people at the doorstep of his home. This is the property of their natures, and caused the last reduction in the number of gorillas in the world, which is not due to disease, and their illegal slaughter. Fortunately, by limiting the number of passes and permits, Fund for Animal Welfare have the opportunity to protect and monitor the gorillas in the mountainous jungles of Central Africa. This is a road or roads already? The next one we saw was the leader of the group who followed us. And while the young are amazed her curiously, the male is distinguished by their impressive size. It's really great pets, and we are incredibly lucky that we could observe such a large representative from close range. He was not concerned by our presence, and the whole family was happy to sit around, looking for the most passing green shoots to eat. We were very relaxed in their presence. The situation is slightly worsened only once, when one of the females tried to pass right through our group. We were more than happy to skip it and also happy that it did not hurt anybody shoulder when passing. Deadline for material: See also: Indonesia-Malaysia-Brunei island of natural wonders
