Country pleasant vampires, or where "take flesh" - Part 2

Cigarettes, DRACULA, WINE AND FISH (continued, part 2) Next, we went to the city of Brasov, which is located among the snow-covered Carpathian Mountains, in the heart of Romania's Transylvania. Since we came here partly because of the legend of Count Dracula and Vlad Tepes (the ruler of Wallachia of the XV century, prim.perev.), It was very difficult to keep a straight face when a very dear woman designed the administrator of our hotel. Look her green eyes pierced through and through, and in her mouth were pointed incisors. She said, like a vampire from the movie, with a typical Transylvanian accent. "I hoschschu ... show you the kitchen - she said. - Hoschschu ... show you your room. " And in fact, Brasov was rather beautiful than scary. The town has a big beautiful square, perfect for observing the passers (and eating ice cream), and the myriad of flowers and brightly painted houses. All very nice, despite the vulgar words "BRASOV" Hollywood-style, which towers over the town, shops and an abundance of western companies on the main street (of course, we're not the first inhabitants of Portland, who came to this city, we realized this after the saw the nearby shops, "Columbia" and "Nike"). In the following days we even managed to get out of town. We spent half a day in Sighisoara, a small village, where Vlad the Impaler spent his childhood years, then we are back in town to visit his church, an ancient cemetery, which has about a thousand years, and the numerous towers that protrude from the walls. Each of these towers was named in honor of the trade guilds, which was responsible for its defense. (Sorry conquerors who unknowingly laid siege tower Butchers, bakers and not the tower). Then we went to Bran Castle, a little weird castle in which Bram Stoker (Irish writer and author of the novel "Dracula", approx. TRANSFER) placed Dracula, as well as Rashnu, the castle on the hillside, where Vlad addicted to the slaughter, and incredibly beautiful summer palace of King Carol I (king of Romania until 1914, prim.perev.). This is a wonderful castle, despite the fact that the Carpathian brown bears, who supposedly inhabit this area, and have not appeared, not to mention the fact that a variety of warnings and threats that frighten us, and have remained just words. "Hollywood" sign of Brasov in Romania, we went to Chisinau, Moldova. Trip could be called good, if not elegant. We stood on the border about two hours. While we have tried fitfully to sleep, we replaced the carriage chassis to adapt it to ride on the narrow gauge railway, built by the Soviet Union in order to slow down the possible advancement of the enemy. In Chisinau, we spent the whole day, but it was a very busy day because we had so much to see and do. Especially since we are in search of the presidential palace for an hour to mark the spot, and only then learned that passed him three times, wrongly assuming that this is not a palace, and the Radisson Hotel, built in 70 years. The afternoon we spent near a beautiful park in downtown, sipping a delicious and very cheap Moldovan wine and personally convinced of how right was an editor of Maxim, which last year declared that the Republic of Moldova live the most beautiful women world. Literally half of those that we have seen, could easily work as a model. Models moldovanki After an excellent breakfast and lunch, I decided that I can taste a little fish, but my dinner was the worst for the whole journey. I immediately came across a fish's back and realized that the "chef" decided to cut the sirloin part and throw all that's left on the pan. On the other hand, it was not surprising, because a closer look under the fried you could see the fins. A little later, our driver tried to dissuade us from returning to the hotel, assuring us that, very close to have a great night club and casino, which also has a clock and a restaurant. But since, apparently, as will be "food" and "eat" in English he knew, he decided to resort to using the classic and oft-repeated phrases: "It is very close and worked through the night, and ... if you ... m -m-m ... want to take ... yes ... the meat into 4 in the morning ... then no problem, you can borrow ... yes ... the meat all night. " But we decided not to try the meat. In the morning we flew to Latvia. Our flight was delayed for an hour, during which all assembled the passengers watched as our flight attendants took turns running out of the plane and tried to empty stomachs on the pavement, and then we were told that the toilet in the airplane will not work during the entire flight. Sighisoara This was our first week in Eastern Europe. Thank you all, and we will investigate the Baltic. Start material:
