Observations of a peacekeeper in Kosovo - part 3

INTERESTING GOODIES PEACEFUL LIFE (the ending part 3) Finally, we made all their purchases loaded purses different colors and shades and headed to his car. As in any other city, some people here are friendly, while others even talk to you do not want to. I welcomed the sellers in the store and greeted the passers-by, and then took pictures of all sorts of interesting things that caught my attention. At some point on the track in front of me I saw two children, who could become a kind of symbol of Kosovo. One of the boys happily playing ball with his friends, while the other curled up on a piece of cardboard in the middle of the sidewalk. I watched them, and I was at that moment both sad and joyful. I went their own way and, after passing the scene of street controversy turned. People continued to go through the lying on the sidewalk of the child, sometimes throwing him on the cardboard a few coins. At that moment I wanted to take this child with him. I know plenty of poor people in Kosovo, and that the unemployment rate exceeds 50%, but children should not starve and sleep on the street. At such times it is very difficult to remain a soldier. It would be very easy to change the life of this child, but at that moment, I absolutely could not do anything. Dobie in the restaurant we went to find a good restaurant where we could have lunch before returning to his unit. Traffic on the streets was just crazy, and we're a little lost. Drive through the narrow streets was not easy, and always had to ask myself in the right direction if we're going. But without any road signs, we were moving at random, and, eventually, to get there. As usual, the restaurant was tastefully decorated, and wall decorations well with tablecloths. We quickly sat down at a table and made a booking. Though hardly appropriate here to use the phrase "made a booking. Waiter very long look at us and then pointed to the cup, and then we realized that he wants us to have ordered any drinks or coffee. Nice menu offers a wide selection of dishes, but for a soldier who can not read in Albanian, chops and pasta in the menu looked quite the same. Our first waiter went to get reinforcements, because we asked too many questions. Some time later came a man who helped us with translation. Everything we ordered different dishes in the hope that we can find some great local dishes, which we then will continually be ordered. A child on a cardboard After appearing on our table a few glasses of drinks, we started to bring and eat. Homemade bread with lots of cheese and garlic, plates of delicious noodles and slices of juicy meat, which were themselves perfect, as in appearance and taste. We began to eat and, of course, ate so much that we had at the time of roll out through the front door. During his stay in Kosovo, I liked a lot of local restaurants, I even think that a local white sauce with noodles is much tastier than what I cook at home. It is remarkable that soldiers are allowed to eat in the cities that we visited. Food here is cheap and the service is always at the highest level. But quite often, as the real Americans, we have to go in a hurry and could not enjoy your meal in full. Perhaps this will be a lesson to me. You just need to not rush and enjoy everything I do. Street children is amazing, but my little foray to the shops became something much more than just a jaunt. Not only have I had a fun time with friends, but talking to the locals, and looked over the city. I am fortunate that I paid attention to all sorts of interesting trivia. Because I have so often not just a time to look around and hear stories of people who feel the breath of the past and this artless touch. Start material:
