Dangerous El Salvador: gangs, cars and mold from the banks - part 3

"EL Wall" and other signs of new life (ending part 3) I also often ask questions about the local food. The food is just amazing, though some call it "food of the poor Mexicans, but I can not agree with it. It is very different from Mexican food, but that it is no less tasty. My favorite dish - and chicharron yucca (yucca - an evergreen plant family agavovyh, chicharron - a hot dish of pork skins with sauces and side dishes, approx. Perevi.). It can be prepared several ways, but I really like it when it is prepared as follows: yucca strongly broil or splash water vapor and make puree out of it, on top put a large portion of salty cabbage and mushrooms, then all these complementary portion chicharrona Very tasty. Terribly bad, but delicious! One of the local gay bus tasting traditional Salvadoran dishes were still ahead, but we have recommended to start, and we look forward to their taste. The only food with which there should be very careful, it's canned. Last week, Karlan decided to try canned mushrooms, and opened a bank. A little later, she noticed the black mold inside, and called me to estimate the probability of a successful outcome of the meal. After a few glasses of water and the release of the stomach from the likely source of botulism, we seem to have avoided serious trouble. Thank God that the father of one of my students working pediatrician. I quickly called him and consulted about preventive measures, fearing that Karlan is not sick or something worse. In the end, for my wife it was over a little awkwardness from vomiting in the sink and discomfort in the stomach the next day. Our house Someone asked me about the house in which we live. Our house - townhouse with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Near the house there is a small shed where our maid kept his things. Behind him is a strange concrete structure, we still do not know what his purpose. We called it the "slaughter room", because that's the way it looks. In the back of the house we have a covered terrace, where we spend most of the time. There, we arrange a barbecue, receive guests, or just lying in a hammock. In the garden we have a lot of all vegetation, but Karlan wants to revive it a bit and planted some more flowers. Recently Karlan painted ground floor in the same colors that our house in the U.S.. Now you only have to hang on the wall of the head of elk. Probably will not be easy to stuff it in an airplane. Dining room I have not yet had the opportunity to surf, but some of my colleagues go to the beach every weekend and I plan to try again ... The last time I stood on a board 10 years ago in Oregon, then I have not really worked. I got lungs full of salt water and the waves were throwing me from side to side like a rag doll, and then threw me on the rocky bottom. Hopefully, next time I have better luck. I was supposed to go today, but so far I have not recovered after a horrible stomach infection, because of this I lost a few pounds, after two days of vomiting. No, I did not eat mushrooms! Kitchen Still, we started taking Spanish lessons. We Karlan once taught Spanish, but it was long ago and, having arrived here, we quickly realized that we urgently need to repeat everything. I felt that my Spanish level, but it turned out that I do not know the language! I've often said some nonsense and come up with words of common origin, when he could not remember the correct Spanish word. For example, the day before yesterday I could not remember how the "wall" in Spanish, and changed the word to "el wall ... not a ride! Nevertheless, it is amusing to observe the teachers in the teachers as they helplessly try to practice the Spanish ... Last week our students have passed, and I caught them when they're giggling at us. I do not know on what specifically they were laughing. This could be a bad pronunciation, and stupid dialogue or themes that we talked like fools! Living Room In fact, I would like a lot of things to talk about our new life in El Salvador, but perhaps'll save something for next time. Bye everyone! Saludos! Start material: <
