VIEW TO PUERTO RICO WITH BEAD yacht Eleanor Smith, England in Puerto Rico we have not seen anything except the road from the airport to the resort town of Puerto del Rey, so we decided to further explore the coast. It was very calm quiet morning, the island of Culebra, we came to the point that our sailing was designated as an anchorage. Having reached the designated place, it turned out that this is not just a place for parking, and a fairly large marina (specially equipped yachts, where crews are provided various services, approx. Perevi.). In such places, we rarely go for several reasons. The main reason, of course, is hot, and in the marina, of course, do not. I like to swim around the boat to cool off a bit. Also, we prefer to anchor in secluded places, where it is very quiet and can not be afraid of what some drunken hooligans. It was too late to go somewhere else, so we decided to go to the park. Marina The staff helped us a lot, though local, as a rule, almost no talk in English. After some time, they led a very amiable guy who, apparently, was their manager. He checked the wiring and connection to the electrical system, and also showed where there is a pool, I must say, quite a nice pool. We have arranged a tour of the marina on a small golf carts. Marina was much bigger than a parking lot for yachts in Weymouth (resort town on the southern coast of England, ca. Perevi.). There were significantly more port facilities, homes, villas, and soon finds marina for owners of expensive yachts. Each of these houses was a kind of independent protected area at a large independent conservation area. One of the houses was very strange. It was a square structure in psevdoispanskom style, although quite modern. There is also a strange fountain of construction pipes, and around to the guests during open as many as six restaurants. In the evening we returned to the boat and arranged a dinner at an Asian style. Beach in Culebra As usual, we were able to come up with something to do and the next day. We devoted his swimming pool with a magnificent view of the sea. In the evening we joined the reserves of water and left to air-conditioning turned on all night, and when he awoke in the cabin was even cool - about 19 degrees! In the parking lot was almost nothing to do. Marina was built recently, and there was not even a bar where you could drink a couple of cocktails. It was like a beautiful, but artificial plants. A wonderful beach with incoming wave, it looked just fine. Artistic creativity in a street in Salinas The next day we went to the city of Salinas. As before, all the way had to be done on the engines as it was completely calm, and the opportunity to set sail and was not offered. Weather something reminiscent of the Mediterranean Sea. It was very hot. Fortunately, whales and other animals, except for flocks of dolphins, we saw does not fit. Nuisance - our chartplotter (stationary satellite navigation system, approx. Perevi.) Ceased to receive the signal. But he's only six weeks old! We immediately hooked up a laptop, and, thank God, the system worked. Beach resort of Palmas del Mar in Salinas, we were surprised by how shallow was the entrance to the lagoon. For our boat, he was almost too small, we almost tore down the near-bottom sand! Anchorage was surrounded by mangroves, and reefs have been around. Were installed around the numerous speed limit signs, as manatees live here (large aquatic mammals, approx. Perevi.). In this area, they multiply. Water around the boat was pretty muddy, so to see manatee would be difficult.
