Expensive and noisy Belize - Part 1

MAYA CAVES AND DELICIOUS FOOD Jessica Mason, Australia So, we got to Belize. Here we are waiting for a surprise, because all goods and services, from taxis to package milk are twice as expensive than in neighboring countries! Taxi drivers are behaving like real racketeers! At least I thought so. We had to pay 30 Belizean dollars per trip to the town called San Ignacio. This is a small border town, but close to it is a lot of attractions, so its worth a visit! Belizean dollar is related to the American "namesake" at the rate of 2:1. Monkey Falls Falls We found a hotel that was called "Bella." She manages a woman named Natasha, and her daughter's name is Bella, hence the name. We arrived early in the morning, things spread out, and then for a small fee, Natasha Bell, and some girls went with us to the waterfall Monkey Falls. This is a small waterfall on the river, which flows down and forms small pools where you can swim. Very nice! The water was pleasant, although a little cool, perhaps due to the fact that we are in a mountainous part of Belize. Local beer is called "Belikin. In general, it is not bad. Worth 3.5 Belizean dollar at the supermarket, so that can afford not particularly hit. The hotel we are currently preparing lunch and dinner, and ate cereal for breakfast. Restaurants here are too expensive for us, because we planned the bulk of our budget to spend on entertainment. On the river the next day we decided to relax, because two days before we had to get up at four in the morning. We now have to sleep off, but seven in the morning we woke up and could not sleep! I had to get up and go on foot to nearby Mayan ruins. Entrance costs 10 Belizean dollars. To inspect the ruins, we spent about an hour. This is a small Mayan city, but it is one of the first settlements in Belize. Ruins called Cajal Pec. The cave entrance Aktun-Tunichil Muknal-afternoon we were resting, walking with family owners of the hotel and their dog named Scar. Dog was once taken away from his former master, because he is bad to use it. Scar trained as fighting dogs, and cut off his ears, so during the fight they could not cling to the enemy. Horror! The scar was very friendly dog, loved to play, but it had to keep on the circuit, because he always wanted to mate with other dogs. In the cave the next day we went to the most interesting sights in the region. We were told that if we have a little money (they are just a few), and we want to see something truly interesting, it's best to go there in the caves of the ATM, that is Aktun-Tunichil-Muknal. Everything had to be an old school bus. It takes half an hour and goes through the hills and jungles. But that's not all - then still had to walk to the entrance of the cave and on the road three times to cross a river. In general, our shoes are soaked and we did most of the way barefoot. At the entrance fee has been included yet, and pay for lunch, which we liked. In the cave we went in the afternoon and arrived at the scene about half a second.
