American history, immortalized in stone

The Mount Rushmore - ONE OF THE SYMBOLS U.S. Mount Rushmore - a memorial and an impressive monument to American history. Here the rocks are carved images of four American presidents - George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. Despite this, the full plan of sculpture was not carried to completion as originally planned, except that the heads of the presidents will also carved their figures to the waist. Work had been suspended because of the sudden death of Borglum. Later, his son tried to complete the work, but funding for the project was suspended due to costs associated with the U.S. entry into World War II. Portrait of Lincoln's entire Memorial Mount Rushmore was designed to attract tourists to the Black Hills. Most visitors come here during the summer, from June to August, but the most appropriate time to visit is April-May or from September to October.
